The carving knives are essential hand tools , for your detailed wood shaping and every woodworker should have a couple of them , in order to complete his toolbox in this area .

If you combine the previous knife set with this one from Westcott , you won’t need much more and you’ll be carving covered in a high grade .
They have carbon titanium alloy steel , which is way tougher than the simple stainless steel , their handle shape is super comfy and they cover a wide range of blade shapes .
They’re great starters for an amateur wood carver , but not only . The more experienced one will love them for their sharp “surgical” feeling they give .
The Westcott brand is well known among the carvers for the pieces they make .

You know already that when it comes to blades , i like and respect very much the Japanese blades .
This Takagi carving knife is a top example of a very good japanese blade – knife and doesn’t need many words .
It has a Sk5 carbon steel straight blade with Sakura wooden handle and except all the others , it’s very beatifull . This Kiridashi knife is a woodworking ” fetish” .
Excellency is the “name of the game” in here .

A hook carving knife is needed of course in your wood “armory” and i return to the Flexcut telling you to have this hook knife for a little above the 50$ .
It’s a single bevel knife “stepping” in the Swiss style hook knife having an 8″ length and a radius of 5″ . Not bad for even a new woodworker .
The comfortable feeling is great and the quality is the known Flexcut from the USA . This is another very good tool from FLexcut .
