The chisels are for sure one of the most important hand tool in woodworking and if you want to slice – shape any design you want with precision and total control by you , you should have some .
There are “million” of chisel brands and styles outhere in the markets and of course i don’t have solid opinion for all of them , but i have experience for many popular brands and types of chisels .
Nobody can say with seriousness that he has worked with everything existed outhere , no matter how many years he’s acting carpentry . Of course there are top brands trusted big from all .

You know that i like my handel to be wooden in my hand tools , but these 4 MIlwaukee set is something i cannot resist . Ok , Milwaukee is one of my favorite brands , no matter what this set is a top bying choice .
It has 4 chisels , having the a very common width variety : 6mm-12mm-19mm-25mm , to cover most of your slicing and the quality of the metal doesn’t need introduction from me .
It’s what you expect from Milwaukee . Of course it has the classic metal cap for your strikings and perfection is the “name of the game” in here .

Who doesn’t know IRWIN blue chisels ? I don’t think many .
Having the same approach as the Milwaukee , with no wooden handle ( Polypropylene ) and with high carbon steel metal , thise 4 chisels are very good .
Their width aren’t so far from the above Milwaukee’s , but this set is another “must have ” one .
Their shaprness and the hold of this sharpness is well known and don’t search for disadvantages . Every caretner outhere has , or want to have this type of basic chisels .

Its’ nice to have two chisels of 1″ and 1.5″ for your dovetails , et.c and these two from the Buck Brothers and the Workpro are very nice choices . These brands are making very reliable tools without being expensive , think that i like much .
There’re in the 10$-15$ area .
The first , the 1” Buck Brothers has a high carbon steel , meaning that you may have to sharpen it more frequently , but it’s hardened and tempered which is good for long lasting sharpening results .
Yes ok , it doesn’t have a wooden handle as i like but it has an accetate one which is stronger than most of the plastic ones and all this for less than 10$ .

The second 1-1/2″ Workpro chisel is a chromium vanadium steel alloy ( very “decent” ) with nice quality synthetic handle and for a little more than the 10$ bucks , you have a very good chisel .
It’s nice , sturdy , egonomic enough and its sharpness is above the money , you’ll give . You may not believe of how smart you were bying this for so few money .

I couldn’t leave you , without a top ( yes expensive ) Kirschen chisel set with wooden handles and very – very top quality in every inch .
This Two – Cherries brand is well known to everyone and respected big .
Who doesn’t know the Robert Larson company and what it can do .
Quality “overflows” in here from the alloy steel to the quality of the wooden handle they call it , Hornbeam wood .
I’ve seen Kirschen a few times and i’ve used them for a little , from respect to the friend carpenter . You feel the quality from second one !!!!

I always liked the smart – “honest” as we say in Greece , in my purchases . I like when i buy “more stuff” than the money i give .
Yes , ok when i want to have a higher – top quality i pay and i don’t have a theme , but the “honest” choices are always in my mind .
It’s a nice think to have a roll with a couple chisels in it , covering a wide range of widths and be very portable without pay much . You can take them with you , wherever you go and maybe don’t use your more expensive chisel “jewels” .
