The hand brace drill assisted with some nice bits and some egg beater style drills may look like “old style” woodworking , but they can give you high control and precision to make perfect holes on wood .

You can use your power drills , your drill presses in order to create your desirable hole in wood , but this type of hand tools are helping in tight areas , in your joints , et.c and there very easy to use .

Thje ratcheting mechanism is very controlable and easy to control by anyone .

I’ll give you some of my best suggestions( for hand and power drills ) to have and i don’t think in here you should give a big amount of money , to get the biggest variety in the world .

Even if the these tools aren’t expensive ones and you can have many of them .

The Stanley 5044 Bit basic .

This 10″ Stanley is a nice choice to have and i don’t think there is a person who doesan’t know the Stanley quality .

It has a 3 – way ratcheting mechanism to fit in tighy places , the metal and the bearings have the known quality standarts of Stanley tools and it’s anti-corrosion treated .

Don’t worry for the plastic handles , they won’t have fragile issues . Ok , it would be nicer to have wooden maybe , but it’s ok i suppose .

The chuck( 4 jaw chuck )will take all your drill bits and a wide variety of bit types , extensions , et.c .

It’s a well made brace and i think a very nice basic one .

The Spiral Push Drill .

This is an exceptional choice if you’re a small – tiny miniature woodworker and you need extreme holes precision , in tiny scales .

It’s super easy to use and i remember i had some of these when i was in my early school years . You just push down to make your tiny precise hole in wood .

The alloy steel is strong and smooth as it needed and this is a great helper for elite , tiny wood projects .

The Stanley Egg Beater hand drill .

This egg beater from Stanley is very good manufactured .

It has the steel where it should and be smooth at the same time, to give comfort and precision , combined as it should be for drilling holes with egg beaters .

The chuck is steel and it has 3 jaws and the frame is steel with nickel finishing . It’s solid and smooth at the same time .

As i remember cause i’ve used a little a Stanley like this in a friend’s place , you’re impressed by the smoothness movement and how you feel it in your hands .

All the world’s brace and drills can do nothing if you don’t have some nice quality’s and capable to give you precision holes , drill bits . Let’s see some very basic bits sets and more .

These drill bits i’ll suggest you , are focused for hand drills mostly .

The IRWIN drill Bit set for Wood . ( 3 pieces )

This 3 bits( 5/8″, 3/4″ & 1″ ) from Irwin is a super basic and helpful bits set for any woodworker and it’s a super bargain for less than 10$ .

They can fit to any 1/4″ shank and their hex shank will reassure that they’ll not slip from any speed and pressure you want to manually or not drill .

The quality is in the well known Irwin standarts and these are very nice pieces in a top price .

The DEWALT Titanium Nitride Coated Drill Bit Set .

If you cannot have a big variety for drill bits and you wont to have them for your hand drills as long with your drill press and power drills , have this 29 pieces from Dewalt and you’ll be fully covered .

These bits are a must and the titanium nitride coat they have is a super advantage in my opinion for long lasting and durability .

They’ll cover you from the 1/16″ of an inch to 1/2″ and they’re straight shank type . The general quality doesn’t need introductions , it’s a heavy – duty Dewalt .

It’s great “asset” for your toolbox , to have “all in one place” .

The BOSCH 12-piece assorted set Daredevil spade Bits .

This is another must have” and have “all in one place” bits set from Bosch and it’s a heavy – duty also , high carbon steel bits set .

These 12 spade bits will cover your holes drilling from 1/4″ to the 1 and 1/4″ and there very well made , way more than the very cheap ones .

There’re designed with very strong tip for better and faster cuttings and their shank is a 1/4″ hex , to fit in the majority of your drills – extensions , et.c .

Bosch is making very nice tools and this is for sure a very handy bits set .

The IRWIN marples Forstner bit set , wood drill bits .

For my last recommendation i cannot leave outside this 14 pieces carbon steel , forstner bits for your wood tool “armory” . I suppose you , me and nobody can avoid having a decent set of this kind of bits for his toolbox .

They cannot only drill holes , but can “clean” fast a mortise and tenon joint in order to finally shape it with your chisels and in general there super useful .

Mostly we use them with our drill presses , that’s why their shank can fit to 3/8″ and larger drills and presses and they can do very precise wood “digging” .

They’ll cover you from 1/2″ to the 2″ and their sharpness and smoothness cutting quality are from the “top shelf” .

The storage box is just fine and cool .

For around the 50$ , you don’t need no more . Take them from Amazon here .
