Best wood Brushes , for perfect and correct woodworking use .

It may seem to you that all brushes are the same and you can use whatever you want in woodworking , but this isn’t 100% true if you want perfection .

There are million of brushes outhere and maybe they seem all the same , doing the same job , but if you want to treat your wood project good , you need to have a couple of nice quality brushes .

There are two types of brushes . The synthetic hair( foam included ) and the natural hair ones .

In general remember this golden rule : the synthetic ones are used for water based finishes and the natural for the other types of finishes .

See in HERE the complete post for the brushes info .

I’ll give you some of my top brushes propositions and of course the Purdy “dominates” in here .

The 2-1/2″ Purdy XL dale angled .

To have an XL good quality’s brush for your acrylic mostly but not only brush , is a must for your large surfaces .

This Purdy is a very good brush , having tight holding , as i like and it’s top for inside and outdoor finishes and projects . All paints and stains are in its capabilities and you can use it in every situation .

It’s designed to give smooth painting without leaving marks and uneven layers . This is a nice big brush starter .

Take it from the Amazon for around the 10$ in here .

The Purdy Nylox Series Mode Flat Trim 3″ .

Another very good brush from Purdy is this one and it’s not randomly one of the first choices of the professionals .

It’s designed for extreme smoothness , mostly for latex paints , but it’s very capable to acrylic paints , primers , et.c .

It’s very well made of course with alder wood as handle , nylon threads and with stainless steel ferrules . It’s a USA of course and i think if you can have only one big ( 3″ ) brush , have this .

Make your final checks from Amazon and take it in here.

Remember that we use synthetic brushes for water based finishes mostly , but other synthetic brushes exist for other types of finishes , as primers , latex , acrylics , et.c .

I highly recommend you the Purdy brushes , there are very pro and heavy – duty .

See the entire range and variety of Purdy on Amazon in HERE . They worth every penny .

If you want some really big and wide XXL brushes for decking , fences , or whatever large you have this set of 3 brushes from Bates of 4″ – 5″ – 6″ , are just fine and in a very reasonable price .

Take a look and take them on Amazon here . I don’t think that you need something more wide in this area .

The ROYAL BRUSH Foam Brush, 3-Pack , 1″, 2″ & 3″ .

A couple of foam brushes are very useful for all carpenters , especially when you want extreme and “surgical” finishing in difficult spots , with zero dripping . In cabinetry these types of brushes are must .

This 1st set is coming from Royal & Langnickel which is well known for this type of brushes and it costs llower than 5$ bucks .

Take this bargain from Amazon here .

The KINGART Foam 2″ Set for Oil , Acrylic & Watercolor Paint .

If you may wonder if you can use a foam brush for your oil finishing , yes you can . I’ve said that usually we try to use a natural hair brush , but there is no unbreakable law in woodworking .

Improvise and if the result is ok , you’re just fine .

So this 20 pieces of 2″ foam brushes will cover you completely if you have a large amount of wood plans to finish . You can use these types of bushes to any finishing you want with no issues .

A big advantage of the foam brushes is that they’re very light and easy to control , along with their zero dripping . This set costs around the 10$ .

Get it from Amazon here .

The REDTREE natural Bristle paint brush – 2″ .

Lets see some of the “Ferrari’s” brushes for your oil finishing and not only of course . You can use natural hair brushes to whatever you like . It’s not “forbitten” .

Personally i like more than the other types , this kind of brushes .

This from the Redtree is very carefully made from Bristle and it has a nice and comfortable designed wooden handle . It’s like holding a pencil and work .

It’s mid size 2″ brush , so it’ll cover you much . If you can have a couple of this . It’s not as expensive as you can imagine , but it’s not cheap .

It’s around the 20$ . If you take care of your brushes , you can have them for many years .

Take them from the Amazon here .

The 3” Purdy thin flat sash paint Brush , Ox-Hair .

Of course Purdy cannot be missing from this brush area . Another animal hair , another feeling of painting , but the top quality is guaranteed .

It’s a flat trim brush and if you haven’t touch – work and feel a natural air brush , please do so by having a brush like this in your palms . Another level , another sensation .

Go to Amazon for the rest in here . Remember that the natural brushes are always more expensive .

I suppose having a couple of different types and styles of brushes as the above , you’ll be covered for the majority of your carpentry “missions” .

If you want to “surf” more and see the entire range of brushes on Amazon , go HERE .

Keep woodworking and stay happy of course .
