The wood splititng with the use of a wooden maul is a very easy and fast job , if you have a good maul and feel it nice in your hands .
Yes , the wooden maul isn’t a “secondary” hand tool and i suppose every house and woodworker acting with wood , has one .
See al the maul details and some chosing – using “secrets” in HERE .
I’ve said to myself , to make some helpful maul suggestions in here and try to be in the low price area , but this 20 years guarantee (!!) Gransforks Bruk splitting maul , doesn’t let me .
It isn’t very expensive and if you consider the 20 years of guarantee , the price seems very logical , especially with the Gransforks Bruk quality .
It’s a 7lbs maul , with a 32″ wooden handle and the combination of metal , wood and leather( sheath) is perfect matched .
If you watch the head’s metal craftmanship and V – shaped design , you’ll see what i mean . Maybe the edge is more sharp than needed , but no worries .
This is a work of art and that’s why i started this maul suggestion post , starting from the more expensive piece .
Make your final checks and get it from Amazon .
Another nice maul piece is this 11pounds and 34″ long Truper . Even if i like more my toosl to have wooden handles , this fiberglass handle maul is very pretty .
The handle is made from comfort and have a nice grip and the head , has the correct design for easy splitting . The balance is very crucial for a maul and this maul isn’t made depending in luck .
And yes , its very beautiful beyond all else . Get it from Amazon .
The same company , the Truper has a longer version 36″ , with wooden handle if you like , having the maul same approach .
It’s a 6 pounds maul , not super heavy , the steel alloy is ok and go to Amazon for the final buying steps .
Some extra head wedge replacements for your maul are always needed and this 7 set for the most common dimensions , from Ganazono , is very fine for less than 10$ .
They come in several thicknesses and the iron is the appropriate for the stabilizing job .
Take them from Amazon in here .
Keep woodworking and never stop .
