What is the Cheapest wood to buy and make woodworking projects ? ( + helpful mentality . )

Many woodworkers when they want to make some of their carpentry creations , they like to combine expensive wood pieces with a little more “common” ones and of course cheaper .

Buying cheaper wood than the top luxury ones , doesn’t mean that this wood is bad or that you cannot do amazing wooden plans , with it .

Combining many types of wood parts , you can control more easily the cost of your wood project , when you buy or when you sell a wood piece .

The examples of elite wooden furniture manufacturers , combining industrial wood with expensive wooden parts as veneer , et.c are countless .

So searhing for the cheaper wood available , is always a wise method .

The cheapest wood to buy is mostly the area of the soft types of wood as the maple , the poplar , the beech , the oak , some of the hard types and of course all the industrial wood(MDF , particle boards , et.c ) are the most cheap wood types and they’re also very popular , among the woodworkers .

The olive wood and the yew tree/wood are hard types of wood and they are very cheap to buy too .

Usually we use to make more advanced carpentry projects the chestnut , the walnut , the cherry tree , the ebony if you can afford the price , tropical pieces , mahogany and good quality’s plywood to make wood covers , of a cheaper wood type .

This way you can have a low price and prestige , at the same time . The wooden furniture from solid top quality’s wood , in all of their mass , are very expensive for the majority of the “pockets” .

It’s very difficult to see wooden furniture and stuff , from solid olive oil wood and yew wood , but it’s not impossible . Nothing is impossible to the woodworking “planet” and if your “apetite” wants to make stuff by these kind of wood , do it and don’t hesitate .

The only “limit” is your happiness and joy and do whatever you like to “earn” that .

If you want to remember the types of wood & more info , see in HERE .

Wood has many different properties and all these are changing while the time passes . It has many different shapes and of course we separate the trees and the wood into different qualities , according to the properties it has .

Why expensive wood , is expensive ?

As all the materials on earth , the rareness is one of the major factor for a material to have high prices to buy and they are more expensive than the other materials .

Other factor for the wood’s high prices are the properties it has , against the other materials .

There are wood which have low prices and they are very “common” and there are more expensive wood . There is wood which can “catch” thousand” dollars or euros in the wood market stores .

They are very rare , they are very beautiful and they have unique properties , the others don’t have .

The engineered wood isn’t “bad” of course , i like it very much and i use the industrial wood for some of my house needs .

The industrial wood is created by us and we can give to it , the specific properties we want , that’s why the industrial wood can be very cheap .

We can make industrial wood from wood small pieces which were about to be thrown away as garbage maybe .

We can make industrial wood from different types of wood mixed and create very nice looking wood boards to use to our stores and other places we decorate .

We can make industrial wood from sawdust we don’t use and i’m sure you’ve seen these kind of wooden boards in the summer bars near the sea .

Cheap wood is Bad wood ?
